EXPECTD OUTCOME
At the end of the course, the candidates should be able to
- contribute to the quality use of medicines and to improve clinical analysis and clinical decision making skill
- develop and understanding of patient centered care with a focus of pharmaceutical care and service provision
- provide direct patient care services that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health, wellness and disease prevention
- involve an evaluation of the appropriateness of the drug therapy (e.g. drug choice, dose route, frequency and duration of therapy and its efficacy)
- explore successful approaches to practice that ensure safe, effective and efficient use of medicines through collaborative working
- monitor of potential drug interactions, adverse drug reactions and assess patient drug allergies while initiating a drug therapy plan
- enable to the students to diversify skills for a range of advanced practice roles emerging in community and hospital settings
- provide the structures processes and outcomes of variety of pharmacy services specialist areas including hospital, community and primary care
- have an opportunity to develop skills and expertise in relation to research and development of pharmacy services
- develop relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies required for effective advanced practice in pharmacy
- design and test the strategies to enhance patient adherence, reduce drug-related morbidity
- Regular updates of the course will integrate emerging clinical evidence and current controversies. A major strength of the program is the emphasis on developing clinical practice and the integration of evidence based medicine.
DURATION OF THE COURSE
Total duration: 3 years, full deputation
A. Full time, coursework: 1 year 4 months
Basic common module 1 month
Special common module 2 months
Respective subject 13 months
B. Internship: 8 months
C. Protocol submission: Within the last three months of the coursework and internship
(at the end of second year, i.e Term 1)
D. Thesis: 1 year (Third year, i.e Term 2 )
